Sari followed closely behind her old friend Asylum, excited to see what adventures the two would get into next. It was just like old times, she thought, back when they would adventure around Cyrodiil and enjoy the action of it all. Then, of course, they added to their little group and still had amazing adventures with their group. There were struggles, of course, but they were a family and always found a way through.

Busy reminiscing on their old escapades, Sari hadn’t realized Asylum had stopped walking. She bumped into him from behind, snapping out of her trance. Asylum turned around and looked at her, a little confused, but she simply smiled in return.

“Sorry, Asylum! I wasn’t paying attention, I guess,” she apologized.

“Well, try to be more careful next time, alright? You’ll be alright,” Asylum replied flatly. Sari was slightly shocked at his attitude, but decided to ignore it in favor of making her mistake up to him.

He continued ahead, starting to talk to his new companion. This companion was Sigrid, the new girl who Asylum said suffered from a voice in her head much like he had himself. The two would stick close together quite often nowadays, especially on adventure. Sigrid always seemed to know where to go next or what to do, so she usually took the lead. Asylum followed her willingly, which annoyed Sari quite a bit. She knew just as much as Sigrid did, yet Asylum never asked her to lead or take control of anything.

Sigrid and Asylum talked a lot more as of recent days, and Sari was left behind with the rest of the random people who followed Asylum nowadays. Heck, some of the time Asylum didn’t even pick her up so she could go on adventures with him. Sigrid seemed to have a certain unbreakable bond with Asylum that even Sari herself couldn’t make. It was hard for the orc to get a hold of this in her head. She even went so far as to think of what it would be like to have a voice in her own head just to get closer to Asylum in some way.

It was if she had been left behind by someone she had loved and protected, and who loved and protected her for years.

And it hurt. It stung in her heart like a thousand knives.

But something else burned inside of her..

Just seeing her best friend and partner with another girl that he related to and seemed to like so much.. It broke her inside.

As much as she hated to admit it..

Sari was jealous.
Just thought I'd write a little drabble that sort of expressed how Sari may feel now that Asylum is growing so close to Sigrid.. Enjoy!
