“Johnny, how the heck do I mix this stuff?” Johnny Ghost whined, holding a mixing bowl and a spoon and seeming very confused about what he was doing.

“Just fold the ingredients together, love! Like I showed you before!” Johnny Toast, his older partner, replied. He himself was busy rolling out a piece of dough.

The two were making a pie together, with Toast taking the lead from what he knew after watching his grandmother bake as a child. Ghost had absolutely no idea what he was doing, and, unknown to him, neither did Toast. He was going off of very foggy memories, and probably getting everything all wrong.

Ghost began to try and mix the filling again while walking over to Toast for another demonstration, but only succeeded in tripping and spilling everything onto the floor. He groaned, frustrated in himself, and just let himself lay on the floor for a moment. Toast knelt beside him, worried that he was hurt or something of the sort. “Love? Are you alright?” he asked, looking down at Ghost with concern.

Ghost sat up and nodded. “Physically, yeah, but emotionally? Dead inside as usual,” he shrugged. He caught a glimpse of something in front of him and looked down, noticing that the front of his hoodie was covered in cherry pie filling and flour. He groaned again, louder this time. “Great! Now my favorite hoodie is ruined! This day couldn’t possibly get any better!”

Toast studied him with a pitiful glance, thinking of a way to lighten the brunet’s mood. He stood up and held his hand out for Ghost to take. “Come on, love, let’s get you cleaned up,” he smiled.

Ghost took his hand, standing up and pouting as per usual. He sat down in a chair nearby and waited for Toast to do whatever it was he was going to do. He started daydreaming, but snapped out of it when he realized Toast was trying to take the iconic grey hoodie off of him. He sighed, helping Toast take the dirtied hoodie off of him. Having the hoodie off of him made him feel vulnerable and strange, so he curled up in the chair and stared at the ground. He felt a hand gently touch his arm and looked up, being met with the face of Toast smiling down at him. Toast handed him a shirt so that he wasn’t quite as exposed, then stood him up.

“I’m sorry I didn’t help you sooner, love. I thought you knew how to cook for some reason, I suppose. Don’t know why, but I did,” Toast apologized.

“It’s okay, Johnny! I thought I knew how, too,” Ghost smiled, putting the shirt on. It was purple with long sleeves, and it had a simple band logo on it that he couldn’t read. “Besides, baking sucks anyways. Let’s just go get a pie from the store!” he laughed.

“Aw, but that’s no fun! I enjoy baking, I’m just not good at it!” Toast chuckled, wrapping an arm around Ghost’s waist.

“Don’t worry, I’m not good at it either,” Ghost smiled.

Toast smiled as well, starting to lean in a bit. He had his other hand behind his back, strangely, but Ghost decided not to question it. Instead, he simply smiled and shut his eyes once Toast’s face was inches from his own. Instead of the kiss he was expecting, however, he was met with a face full of flour. He coughed, opening his eyes and looking around quickly, but was only met with laughter from his partner.

“Got you! Happy Pi Day, love..” Toast smiled. Ghost laughed, his face now paler than usual due to the flour. He wiped some of the flour off with his hand and rubbed it on Toast’s face.

“Yeah.. Happy Pi Day,” he laughed. The two finally kissed. Although they never did get their pie, they were happy with how the day had turned out.
